Retractable Hose Systems
A retractable hose system is a central vacuum hose that retracts into the wall with the simple suction power of your central unit.
This new technology is the perfect solution for simple and efficient cleaning
There is no need of storage space for your hose. It automatically stores itself inside the piping system, right behind the inlet, simply with the suction power of your central vacuum unit.
A retractable hose system solves the problem of carrying and storing a central vacuum hose. Simply pull out the amount of hose you need and begin vacuuming. When you're finished, the suction from the central vacuum power unit retracts the hose.
Hose lengths are customized according to the size of the floor. Each inlet can cover up to 2300 square feet. Retractable hose systems require the combination of a powerful central vacuum unit. Depending on the size of the home and length of piping needed, our specially trained sales technicians can help you choose the right unit for your system.
No More Dragging The Hose From Inlet To Inlet
No more carrying, coiling and storing a bulky hose again. Simple cleanups are just that: simple!
Now you can eliminate carrying (or storing!) a bulky hose up and down stairs or from room to room. Simply pull out the length of hose needed for the cleaning job, connect your choice of attachment and begin vacuuming. It's that easy. When finished, the system uses the suction from the central vacuum power unit to retract the hose back into the PVC tubing installed within the walls of the home.
Behind each inlet valve can store up to 50 feet of central vacuum hose in the tubing within the wall. Since longer hoses can be used (one hose can cover up to 2,300 square feet) Therefor retractable hoses can also reduce the number of inlets required for whole house coverage.
No more dragging a hose from inlet to inlet. No more carrying, coiling and storing a bulky hose again. Simple cleanups are just that: simple!
How Does It Work?
- Simply pull out the length of hose you need
- Then connect the attachments of your choice.
- Pull on the black handle to start the system and to keep the hose from retracting.
- Push the handle to release the hose
- Disconnect the attachments
- Put your hand over the opening to allow the hose to retract
- Close the door to stop the system.

Existing Home or Remodeling
Retractable hose systems are preferably installed during the building process of your home or in homes that have unfinished basements. That said, as long as there is access to an attic or crawl space, a retractable hose system can be installed in most homes . In most cases one our qualified sales agents would visit your home to make sure the system can be installed. For existing central vacuum systems, most of the piping used by your current system will have to be replaced. The reason is that a standard central vacuum system in normally installed with standard 90 degree fittings that prevent the hose from traveling through the tubing. Because the Retractable Hose System actually stores the hose in the PVC tubing, special sweep 90's and 45's are required which allow the hose to travel through the tubing. Here at VacWorks we are experts at providing quality, professional installation in new and existing homes to ensure the built in vacuum system is installed correctly, the first time.
